How to Identify a Real Radar Manufacturer: A Buyer’s Guide

When sourcing radar and security equipment internationally, many trading companies present themselves as “factories.”
While some traders can add value, customers often pay more and take higher risks if they cannot verify whether the supplier is a true manufacturer.

This guide provides practical steps and official resources to help you verify suppliers before making commitments.

1. Request Factory Evidence

  • Factory Tour (Virtual or On-Site):
Ask for a live video call showing the production floor, assembly lines, testing equipment, and R&D offices.
A real factory will usually welcome such a request.

  • Photos & Certifications:
Look for production line photos, ISO certifications, patents, and test reports.
Make sure these documents are issued under the same company name as your supplier.

2. Check Official Business Registration

In China, every legal company has a Unified Social Credit Code and is listed in the National Enterprise Credit Information Publicity System (国家企业信用信息公示系统).
This is the government’s official database for company registration.

  • Website (Chinese only):
    http://www.gsxt.gov.cn

  • How to use:

    1. Open the website.
    2. In the search bar, enter the Chinese company name (not the English name).
    3. Verify the registration information:
      • Company type (制造业 = Manufacturing, 商贸/贸易 = Trading)
      • Registered capital
      • Business scope (look for “生产, 制造, 加工”)
      • Social insurance number of employees (社保人数)
  • Tip:
If you cannot read Chinese, ask the supplier to provide a screenshot of their company profile from this platform.

3. Review Employee Scale (Social Security Records)

In the same 工商公示系统, you can often see the number of employees covered by social insurance.

  • A real manufacturer typically has dozens to hundreds of employees.
  • A “paper company” or small trading office may show only a handful (1–10).

This is one of the clearest signals to tell factories from trading companies.

4. Compare Brand & Product Consistency

  • Manufacturers often have a consistent product line, with technical documents, R&D engineers, and after-sales support.
  • Traders usually offer a wide range of unrelated products (radar, cameras, radios, drones, etc.) that no single factory could realistically produce.

5. Third-Party Audits & Certifications

  • You can request a third-party factory audit (e.g., SGS, Bureau Veritas, TÜV).
  • Many B2B platforms offer “Onsite Check” or “Verified Supplier” badges.
However, always check if the audit is independent or just a self-declared label.

6. Summary

To protect your investment and ensure quality, always verify:

  • ✅ Live video factory tour
  • ✅ Official registration via 国家企业信用信息公示系统
  • ✅ Employee size (社保人数)
  • ✅ Manufacturing scope in business license
  • ✅ Third-party audit reports
